3D Printed Products316L Steel316L STEEL

3D Printed 316L Steel products are stainless steel with good mechanical properties. These products include strong resistance to both corrosion and high temperatures. It can be polished or unpolished and is often used in smaller prints, as it can handle great detail quite well.

Design, test and produce metal parts with 3D-iT 316L Stainless steel 3D printing, that are simply not possible with standard manufacturing. Create lightweight, high-strength structures and deliver new capabilities.

Custom-made products

3D-iT can supply 316L steel 3D printed products. Different low-carbon grade stainless steel is fine-tuned for producing parts with high corrosion resistance and serializability. 316L yields crack free and completely dense parts for all your applications.

Material Description

Austenitic stainless steel type 316L is the extra low carbon grade of 316. This steel is a general-purpose material with excellent mechanical and corrosion properties at room temperature. Its chloride resistance makes this specific grade of stainless steel suitable for marine applications. 316L stainless steel is also the preferred material for use in hydrogen atmospheres or hydrogen piping/cooling applications. Furthermore, 316L retains good mechanical properties at sub-zero and even cryogenic temperatures and is suitable for structural components in low-temperature applications

Ideal applications for Metal 3D Printing

Fully functional prototypes
Production Tools
Tooling such as molds and inserts
Rigid housings
Ductwork
Spare parts
Heat exchangers and heatsinks

01Lightweight

Reduce weight, improve stiffness-to-weight ratio through topological optimization, hollowing, applying internal lattice structures and/or consolidating assemblies to reduce fasteners.

02Part Consolidation

Manage your part count and eliminate critical assembly processes such as welding that require extensive quality control and inspection. Reduce assembly time and cost by eliminating the need of sub-assembly labor and jigs and fixtures

03Fluid Flow

Rethink design and enable fluid and airflow design to achieve best cooling, heating, mixing or other fluid flow in a part. Make the best of use of CFD by producing geometries that are truly optimized for fluid dynamics and not achievable with conventional production technologies.

04Functional Improvement

Design outside the subtractive tool box and increase the functionality of your component or product by making use of the design freedom 316L offers.
