Custom-made products

ABS (Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene) is great for functional parts and prototypes that need more robust mechanical properties than PLA. ABS matches approximately 80% of the properties of injection moulded products but is rigid and inflexible, with design freedom limited due to the Fused Deposition Modeling printing process. The surface of an ABS model is always slightly rough due to the printing process, and it can be challenging to post-process, though it can be smoothed using vapour smoothing. The infill percentage can be customised to your needs in our configuration’s “Finish” step.

Material Description

ABS has a low production cost and is relatively easy to machine, making it an ideal material for mass production of everyday products. ABS is also reasonably easy to post-process as it can be glued and painted.

Examples of products manufactured in ABS include kitchen appliance housings, automobile dashboards and bumpers, protective equipment like headgear, electrical casings and covers, Lego bricks and other toys, and even musical instruments.

01Low Cost and Finishing

ABS 3D prints are exceptionally cost effective with a large range of colours. Parts made from ABS can be processed with acetone, for a smooth, shiny finish

02Good impact and wear resistance

ABS filament is an extremely durable thermoplastic. It is commonly used in rapid prototyping and additive manufacturing environments to test product impact resistance and durability.

03Insulation Properties.

ABS has strong electrical insulation properties.

04Good heat resistance

ABS filament’s properties of higher temperature resistance, flexibility, machinability and strength make it a preference for engineers and others where mechanical uses are important
